WTA-245T wetting agent is a high-efficiency silicone wetting addtitives with well-balanced performance. It precisely solves these below application problems for customers in the coatings, inks, and cleaning fields:
1. Solves the problem of substrate wetting issues such as poor coating, pinholes, and fisheyes.
In water-based systems, water has a high surface tension (approximately 72 dyne/cm), making it difficult to spread on low surface energy substrates (such as plastics, oily metals, old paint layers, and release paper).
Application problems: After painting, shrinkage, exposed substrate, or round pits resembling "fisheyes" are observed.
Application solutions: It rapidly reduces the system surface tension to below 22 dyne/cm. This means it forces the liquid to spread on difficult surfaces, effectively resolving the issuer of pinholes and improving coating efficiency.
2. Solves the problem of poor adhesion and difficulty in recoating in multi-layer coatings.
While ordinary silicone oil-based additives can increase smoothness, they often form a wax-like film on the surface, making it difficult to apply the second coat or causing it to peel off easily after drying.
Application problems: In wood coatings or leather finishing, after applying the primer, the topcoat doesn't adhere well or the interlayer adhesion is insufficient.
Application solutions: It doesn't improve smoothness and doesn't affect interlayer adhesion. This solves the biggest concern for customers who require adhesion more, making it ideal as a primer wetting agent or in coating processes requiring multiple color layers.
3. Solves the problems of foaming and stable foaming.
Many high-efficiency wetting agents (such as traditional polyether-modified siloxanes) generate a large amount of persistent foam while reducing surface tension, leading to pinholes and bubbles in the coating film.
Application problems: High-speed stirring or spraying generates a large amount of foam; adding too much defoamer can cause pinholes.
Application solutions: It has low-foaming stability. While providing excellent wetting power, it does not reduce reliance on defoamers like conventional surfactants.
